Locations and People

The Adventurer's Guild - After the Flames defeated Larach, Doran Finestone and Melico agreed to pool their resources and construct an Adventurer's Guild.  Krieg would train the recruits.

Swinging Sword – cenitar- outbuilding behind it – stairway that leads up to the rooms – they offer a hearty bread as rations – does not taste good, but filling

• Bartender, Kay-alessa, 40ish full-figured woman, from Waterdeep shares there are lots of rumors of unseasonal weather (grassfires, flooding with no rain, drought, gusts of hot winds, fog in the hills, bolts of lightning in the sky)
• Brother Eradyn –(monk that tried to kill Krieg) Said "It will take 2 x 10 days to make is East across the mountain range using either West Bridge North or Maniford – Desari Road."  – knights are…?
  • Brother Eradyn, who was provoked by Krieg, has a triangular shaped tattoo that looks like he is trying to remove it from his arm. He has knowledge of the terrible troubadour (the one that ran away into the woods).
  • Brother Eradyn hands of a book with a stone cover. The ink is in dried blood. The symbol has been defaced.  The monk says that Lance Rock is a symptom not the source. In the book is a story of new life in Water Deep and seeking the Dark Library – Devir.
  • Dixon earned the monk’s obsidian bladed dagger that the monk tried to kill Krieg with
  • Element of Earth (triangle with line at the bottom). The monk belonged to an Earth cult.

The Quarry - Red Larch has lots of miners in town as there are two quarry pits managed by Melico Stoneworks and owned by Dorin Finestone. Dorin said an accident happened at the quarry. So established a curfew for everyone so that people wouldn't be out at night.

• Tomb of the sacred stones is in the quarry. That's where the Believers meet.

The Helm @ High Noon– a tap room – Female Orc who loves to arm wrestle named Zomath, who was a former caravan guard. She left the group after a brawl with the Mirabar guard 15 days ago.  The owner joined the Flames to take on Larach, and died in the battle.  He left the bar to Kayalessa, the owner of the Swinging Sword.

Theolong Safe Journeys – another shop in Red Larch. A wagon maker

Ham & Cleaver - Butcher shop owned by the former constable for the village, Harvork Tothmore. He is found dead in the carrion crawler cave. Kayalessa, who also works at the butcher shop has become the new constable. She informs Krieg and Xomba that she does not have the power to make the the town guard, but Yartar has legal authority to do that. We'd have to travel up there to be made the town guard in Red Larch.

Gaelkurs – map and barber shop and has used tools – Volo made the map

• Galker said 7 days ago he received a death threat the next day (today is 5-4-1493) and the cloaked men had bright yellow Bs on their black cloaks

• Galker mentioned that a shepherd found a few graves. The shepherd's name is Larmen Greeboot.

Clothier - owned by Hevlar and Megla Tanyar. Hevlar is from Never Winter (real fancy pants). They have two kids that play near Lance Rock.

• Larach is Megla's only remaining friend.
• She does not like Alberry Mellico over a pricing dispute.  She used to be friends with Oro Lurath, but he won't talk to her anymore, and she doesn't like Oregano Bethandor either.

Mother Yalanta's - Shelter for the poor, only costs one copper to live there for a week, Brother Eradyn (monk with tan cloak) is there behind the first "door" on the left up the stairs.

• thee story dilapidated home - some activity even at midnight. 12 kids, elderly people (elves, dwarf, orc, gnome, humans)
• Elf claims there is a ghost dragon and snake rates (rats with snake heads)
• The little girl street urchin that Xomba gave a gold coin to be a snitch returned the gold coin as a part of a tortle sculpture (the coin was his shell on the mud and twig figurine of Xomba). The little street urchin girl said she saw cloaked men 20 days ago and then 2 days later the curfew laws were imposed. The cloaks come from th four buildings across form the quarry.
• Six people staying in one room. They stay in all day. They are paying customers so Mother Yalanta hasn't bothered them. They keep to themselves. Referenced as "weird hippy druids" by Amemian merchant and Thorce Theolorn who said they were selling kegs of beer and other various items for a big druid event/meeting up North in the Sumber Hills. This was 2 weeks ago. The event is called the Scarlet Noon Hall.
• Man in cloak carving a figure at Yalanta's was questioned by the party. He said "Did Oliver send you? I stand by what I said and I'm leaving. You don't know Grimjaw? Grimjaw didn't send you?" The man admits to being tricked and trapped into the illusion of power. "You would be scared too if you've seen what I've seen."
  • A keep of hearty sea men run by Oliver Grimjaw. The work turned out to be much more sinister Oliver is power hungry.
• 5-7-1493: Brother Eradyn shovels snow in brown cloak with white rope. He shares:
  • Cult of Evil Elemental Earth is ruled by Marlos Earnyale- a male Medussa- he commands the stone - followers worship him like a god. Marlos was called here by an entity we do not know of, but it is causing the weather issues.
  • Other entities are here as well including fire and air.
  • Brother Eradyn left the cult when the plan for the caravan to be ambushed was hatched. He can see the runes that Dixon can also see, but that we can't.
  • The language of Earth is stone, rock, dirt, and sand.
  • Handkerchief from necromancer's cave?

The Temple - Shrine – Grand Stone Mansion – Chapel with stone alter – Chapel hosts are Lymara – human woman and Emgard (old soldier who worships the Old Faith)

• Old Faith shrine has a chilled stone and water trickling down the wall into a pool with a floating sphere that can glow. It glows a subtle while with the crack of thunder is heard. (Ten days the weather has been bad)

• Valkar has been missing for about a year – Lymara saw him last year – He was into magic and had a mentor Oberoth. They stay away from the temple.

• 5-5-1493 Megla is dead at the temple. She's bruised and cut, wood under her nails and some flesh, she's been choked with a man hand, her left hand index finger is broken,.

  • Larach is trying to revive her. He looks like Harrison Ford with a scar on his face. He doesn't own a shop, does odd jobs, foreign to this town, showed up a couple months ago/3 years ago/2 years ago.

  • Krieg found a red flowery thing was stuck in her throat. After removing it, she's breathing but unconscious. (Druid from Bandit Camp let us know what the flower was) He said: The red flower is Mother-in-Law's tongue. It is a paralyzing agent found in the mountains. In contact with liquid, it stops a person from breathing. People look dead. Antidote is just removing it and giving the victim time. Yazhi puts the flower in a vial from her herbalism kit.

  • Larhak goes to West Bridge to find help from a druid he knows. The druid is a little off in the head, but a good guy, Grand is his name - he stays at the fairground with an orc.

  • Oro Lorath awakes in the temple said he was trapped in his both for months. He stays behind with the orc and Megla at the temple while the party goes on a hunt.

• 5-6-1493 - The temple is shattered with a rock jutting up from the ground. The body of the orc was found bludgeoned to death. Emgard was also found dead. Lymira is at the inn. Lorath is back at his home. All the street urchins have been taken.

Heylia's Bath House - Best place for gossip

• 3 ladies in the bath house. 1.) Black woman with a blue and yellow hair tie, emerald necklace was Megla Tarnar, wife of the clothier, 2.) Mother Yalanta a thin and frail pipe smoker who was wearing a black cloak with a blue embroidered B, 3.) Chandryl the leather harness shop owner

Rusty Bucket is another establishment in the town

• Krieg makes nice with Stisehan, the halfling, that gambled and won money from Yahzi at The Helm a few nights ago, and works part time at Whalfor Wagon Works. Krieg recognizes that Stisehan was a part of the same order that he is with and finds out that the halfling fences items. The halfing offers 300 GOLD for finding the Mirabar caravan.
• The halfling gives Krieg gold for the fenced gems. He also mentions Rare Obelisks have been recently found. One they know of but they have seen more. One has been marked on the map. These have only recently appeared in the valley.
• The owner of the Rusty Bucket also offer 42 GOLD for finding the Mirabar caravan.

Whalfor Wagon Works - The other wagon store in town. It's messier than Thayalorn's Fine Journey's. Las few months have been really hard on Whalfor's. Theyalorn is doing really well. Ivan Walfor is the owner of the shop. He is a drunk. He used to be friends with Mellico Stonworks, Herego Belthandar (storage owner), but he always hated Doran Finestone. Oro Larath, who runs the tannery, and Larhak were friends of Whalfor's too.

• After the Flames defeated Larach, Whalfor hung himself for the crimes he committed while under Larach's spell.

Tanery - Owned by Oro Larath. Smells super bad, vats of yuck. We learn that Lrak has a house out by Mother Yalanta's.

• The halfling that works at the tannery shares that is boss, Larath, is a mess. He beats people, he disappears for long periods of time, sometimes he comes back with blood on his hands.
• Oro was good friends with Megal and Doran, but a couple months ago everything changed about the time people started to go missing. He was also friends with Larhak, but always had issues with Wilmar, Ilmeth, and Herego.
• He takes the alms for the temple himself but stops halfway there and doesn't go. He blames the halfling, but it's his own doing.
• Detect magic reveals that Oro Larath is under a magical spell. Krieg knocks him out, hefts him over his shoulder to take to the temple.
