Outside of town the party runs into a skinny woman with long, black hair on a one-horse drawn carriage. She is fleeing Westbridge and claims her husband was taken by a giant black spider. It was a commen forest spider that wouldn't normally come out during the day. They normally set traps and are not aggressive normally.

The party convinces her to come to Red Larch and we will help her find her husband.

The dead have the symbol of elemental Earth carved in their foreheads. Not townspeople, bandits, or cult.

No symbols on the man (husband.Samson/Sandor) but the man has a piece of paper that looks blank, but has invisible ink. It reads:
