The party tracks the delegation to the Temple of Black Earth.  We utilize the dust of disappearance to hide from a patrol a group and are able to observe the temple, which is full of monks with gold masks.  We use the statute of the owl to do some recon.  We have the owl grab a monk and take him away to cause a distraction.  Dixon infiltrates the temple using the hat of disguise.  We extract another monk who is quickly killed, alerting the rest of the monks to our presence.  We flee, and then return at full speed in the cart and run over the monks, taking out everyone in the temple.

We meet with the Arch Lich Reniwick, who has taken over one room in the temple.  We learn that Marlos and Umreal are the same person.  Marlos the male Medusa wields Ironfoe, a powerful pick type weapon. He nurtures the Black Geode, a mountain that walks and will build everything anew.

Reniwick is an ancestor of Peaches.  Having found Peaches, Reniwick discovers a new lease on life.  He is one of the founders of the valley and of the Order of the Gauntlet.
